Salvation is for everyone.
This is good news!
Everyone includes me! It includes you! It includes everyone! God’s great love extends to everyone!
All. Whole. Complete. Total. Everyone.
If there had only been one person Jesus would have come. Jesus loves all of us as if we were the only one. But Jesus came to save the world! He loves all of His creation.
11 God’s readiness to give and forgive is now public. Salvation’s available for everyone!
Titus 2:11, Message
He took the sins of the world and made salvation available to everyone. His love and forgiveness stretch further than my mind can understand. The love He showed us with His life and at His death is the ultimate display of how selfless love…
Let’s say that everyone has been given a free Coke. Everyone, for free. All they have to do is receive it. But there are some people who don’t even know what Coke is. There are others who won’t believe the good news.
13 All who call on the Lord’s name will be saved.14 So how can they call on someone they don’t have faith in? And how can they have faith in someone they haven’t heard of? And how can they hear without a preacher? 15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who announce the good news.
Romans 10:13-15, CEB
Not everyone will believe. Not everyone will hear. Not everyone will know the love that holds them. John Piper has famously said that “missions exists because worship doesn’t.”
I would like to call myself a “Hopeful Universalist”. I hope that all people will believe in Jesus and be saved. I hope that God will have His will and purpose.
3-4 In the sight of God our saviour this is undoubtedly the right thing to pray for; for his purpose is that all men should be saved and come to realise the truth.
1 Timothy 2:3-4, PHILLIPS
Just because I hope that all will be saved doesn’t mean that I believe that all will, sadly. Salvation is for everyone. Some will believe, some won’t. This should propel us to tell everyone of the wonderful work God has done in Christ to reconcile the world to Himself!
