A few weeks ago at church, we were talking about sin. We quoted Mark 10:45 – “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

I used the example of a kidnapping and a ransom note being given. In this instance. the ransom note said,

God, if you want your precious creation back you must pay the highest price.

I asked what the highest price could be. There were many answers, but one child said, “God himself came down to pay!

I was floored!

I’m not sure that they got 100% of what they just said, but they got it!

18 Christ is also the head of the church,
    which is his body.
He is the beginning,
supreme over all who rise from the dead.[a]
So he is first in everything.
19 For God in all his fullness
was pleased to live in Christ,
20 and through him God reconciled
    everything to himself.
He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth
by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

Colossians 1:18-20, NLT
