7 Things I’ve Learned About Life From My Three Year Old

I have a current three-year-old. I’ve had two other kids work their way through the three-year journey. I have one more child to make the trek.

Three-year-olds are interesting creatures: too old for some stuff not old enough for others. There’s plenty that can be learned for looking at kids. Jesus even told us to be like them.

Here are a few things I’ve learned.

3 Direct Questions Every Christian Should Answer Easily

Can I be honest with you? Evangelism isn’t one of my strong passions.

I don’t have what you call as “consuming burden for the lost.” I want them to hear and be saved, but it’s not one of my overwhelming compulsions. I know people that want to visit every person everywhere and tell them about Jesus, I don’t have “that”. Does this make me a bad Christian? I don’t know, maybe. Shift

Do not underestimate God’s kindness. The wealth of his benevolence and his resolute refusal to let go of us in his patient passion is to shepherd everyone into a radical mind shift.

Romans 2:4 (Mirror)

I believe the love of God has a two-fold mission. Redemption and restoration. These two can sound similar but are quite different.

Redemption

The theme of redemption in Scripture is that God has taken the initiative to act compassionately on behalf of those who are powerless to help themselves. The New Testament makes clear that divine redemption includes God’s identification with humanity in its plight, and the securing of liberation of humankind through the obedience, suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

Restoration

He brings you back to original value. So what did my life look like in Christ or even in Adam before sin – what did my life look like apart from sin and in a total place of innocence – one with Him? It probably looked exactly like Jesus on the earth. His nature – I’m not just talking about miracles and power. I’m talking about disposition, heart, nature, love.

Dan Mohler

We have to begin to understand that what we have known in our lives and in the world is not normal. In some ways we have to take take the red pill with Neo and wake to the real world. Thank God we aren’t waking up to a apocalyptic horror movie. We are waking up to Heaven, full of Jesus! We must start making the mental shift necessary to see this now.
