He sees me. He knows me. He loves me.
This is what I have been thinking about for a while now. If I can fully understand this it will change everything.
Let’s dig in.
What’s the point of all this Christianity if we are just going to get in and settle down? Christianity isn’t about settling down. Not settling in traditions. Not settling in belief systems. Not settling in theology. Not settling in anything.
But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
2 Peter 3:18
Don’t stop: learning, growing, unlearning, re-thinking, investigating, listening, obeying, and loving.
The Christian life is not one of sedentary waiting. It’s a journey with the most fascinating person in the cosmos. The idea is not to enter a relationship and go lay on a couch. It’s to talk and listen to one another to grow in our understanding and love of one another.
Picture a young couple just starting to get to know one another. Hesitate questions, mind-blowing answers.
“Wow! You too? That’s weird.”
“It’s so awesome how much we have in common!”
They don’t stop investigating one another once they think they know it all. One day while talking after years of being married and having kids, something will come up in conversation and all of a sudden:
“I never knew that about you! I can’t believe I didn’t know that!”
See, it’s not just jumping into this relationship and immediately going after all the answers. There can be that aspect of it. I did that. I also got burned out after hitting wall after wall of my own religious box. But, after being settled in my theological cage for too long, I felt that I needed my cage rattled.
It was rattled. In the best possible way! More on that at a later date.
The moral of the story is there is always more to discover and learn, so don’t settle.
What do you believe? This is a valid question. This is what all Christians should believe!
