He sees me. He knows me. He loves me.

This is what I have been thinking about  for a while now. If I can fully understand this it will change everything.

Let’s dig in.

HE SEES ME

It’s one thing to understand that I’m not alone and just floating around in this massive universe. It’s another thing to understand that the God of the universe sees me. I’m not alone. I’m not invisible. I’m not hidden.

“Am I not a God near at hand”—God’s Decree—
“and not a God far off?
Can anyone hide out in a corner
where I can’t see him?”
God’s Decree.
“Am I not present everywhere,
whether seen or unseen?”
God’s Decree.

HE KNOWS ME

If I stop with God only seeing me, I don’t think that really changes anything. But, if I peel the next layer and see that He knows me things start to get interesting. I see people all the time. I see people in other cars while driving, walking through the mall, or while at a public event but it doesn’t mean that I know them. I can see them but not have any attachment to them. But to the people I know there is an attachment and emotion with them.

“Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for a child she has borne? Even if that were possible, I would never forget you! See, I have engraved your name on the palms of my hands”
Isaiah 49:15-16 NLT

HE LOVES ME

Now, there is security and soul-settling in knowing that I am seen and known by God. But, thinking about my own life, I know a lot of people. Some of which I have positive feelings for and some I don’t. Thank God that God is not like me.

So, He sees me. He knows me. But in knowing me and I mean all of me, He loves me.

Do you think anyone is going to be able to drive a wedge between us and Christ’s love for us? There is no way! Not trouble, not hard times, not hatred, not hunger, not homelessness, not bullying threats, not backstabbing, not even the worst sins listed in Scripture:

They kill us in cold blood because they hate you.
We’re sitting ducks; they pick us off one by one.

None of this fazes us because Jesus loves us. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our Master has embraced us.
