“Being disguised under the disfigurement of an ugly crucifixion and death, Christ upon the cross is paradoxically the clearest revelation of who God is.”
– Hans Urs von Balthasar

Love wrapped in hate.

Beauty wrapped in ugliness.

Healing wrapped in pain.

Joy wrapped in sorrow.

Hope wrapped in despair.

Peace wrapped in discord.

Salvation wrapped in destruction.

I’ve never been able to see the “Magic Eye” pictures. Never.  I tend to think that people are making up the fact that they can see it.

Imagine the cross as the same thing. The beauty of God’s saving grace hiding just beneath the exterior of horror. I want more than ever to see the clear picture of God’s love inside the massacre of the cross.

From an article on how to see the Magic Eye images.

The longer you look, the clearer the picture becomes.
